Pharmacodynamics Neomycin belongs to aminoglycoside antibacterial drug, and its antibacterial spectrum is similar to kanamycin. It has a strong antibacterial effect on most gram-negative bacilli, such as Escherichia coli, Proteus, Salmonella and pasteurella multocide, and is also more sensitive to Staphylococcus aureus. Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Gram-positive bacteria (except Staphylococcus aureus), rickettsia body, anaerobic bacteria and fungi, etc. are resistant to this product.

Pharmacokinetic neomycin is rarely absorbed by internal administration and topical application. Only 3% of the total dose is excreted from urine after internal administration, and most of it is excreted from feces without change. Intestinal mucosa inflammation or ulcers can increase absorption. The drug is quickly absorbed by injection and the process in vivo is similar to kanamycin.

[Drug interaction] Combined with macrolide antibiotics, it can treat gram-positive bacteria caused by mastitis. (2) internal administration can affect the absorption of digitalis drugs, vitamin A or vitamin B12. (3) Synergistic effect with penicillin or cephalosporin.
